WHAT: Mahesh Bhatt and Javed Akhtar have been sparring on Twitter.

WHY? Over the recent issue of lyricists' copyrights vs film producers.

IN SHORT: Akhtar was upset when Bhatt took a few producers to meet government officials to arrive at an amicable solution. He ranted out through his account on the social networking website

BHATT REACTS: This is sabre rattling - an attention-seeking ploy by him on Twitter, which has run its course. He has made these exact accusations against me before in print. I choose not to rewind and replay my old response.

Here is my reply: My commitment is to the principles of justice not to factions and groups. I support the government absolutely in their endeavour to deliver justice to the authors and composers. They have been historically denied their share of the pie.

All I asked the government was to give the producers a fair hearing which they had not done. Now since the government has done that and given a fair and workable offer, the onus lies with the producers and I implore them to act with great urgency and give the government their just offer to neutralise the grievances of the authors and composers and correct the wrong. Let me spell that out. I am not an activist.

Historically authors and composers have always been denied their legit share and it's indeed a shame the government had to step in to correct the wrong. I merely asked the government to give the producers a fair hearing. Each side has to be heard in a democracy. Even Kasab gets a hearing so why not the producers?"

SHHH... Javed Akhtar remained unavailable for comment.

Sherlyn Chopra Banned For Posting Nude Pictures On Twitter

Sherlyn Chopra, the small time sizzling actress of Bollywood, has been banned by the Twitter from posting images, which are supposed to be provocative enough to raise a controversy.

The actress has become the first celebrity from India, who has been banned by the micro-blogging site. A few days back, Chopra posted some of her nude pictures on Twitter. Many people objected to her images forcing her to take the pictures off from her profile. A rights group in Mumbai also threatened Sherlyn with legal action.

According to a source, “Sherlyn has used her Twitter account (@SherlynChopra) as a medium of exhibition. The number of her followers increased everyday with the public display of her nude pictures. Some of the followers, claiming to be social activists, however, condemned these provocative pictures.”

The source added, “They threatened her online saying that an FIR will be filed against her. These followers also informed Twitter about the act and lodged a formal complaint against her. Now, she has been asked by the site not to upload such bold images.”

Reacting on this, the sizzling Sherlyn said, “My images are not at all suggestive but yes, they are sensual. Have we lost the freedom of expression? Being an Indian girl, I know my morals.”

Well Sherlyn, we all have freedom of expression but we often misuse it or just do not know how to use it properly!

Twitter Turned The Biggest Heroes Into Zeros In A Second

Twitter has been the most open social networking site for common men as well as for the celebrities. No other platform has been as successful in bringing the Bollywood actors out in the open.

They speak their hearts out here and the fans love interacting with them virtually.

Big Bollywood stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Shahrukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan, veteran Anupam Kher and even the perfectionist Amir Khan are seen tweeting often.

They have a huge fan following which makes them proud. But what happens, when our heros find no fan following them, suddenly, one day?

On Tuesday, the micro blogging site Twitter remained non-functional for about two and a half hours. This disturbance overlapped with the launch of a new feature, called 'Twitter Places' which will allow the users to highlight tweets around a given location.

The worst sufferers were the Bollywood celebrities, who discovered that they had no followers after the incident. In her tweets, Sophie Choudhury said, “In a second, Twitter turned them into zeros from heroes.”

The long list of fans vanished and the celebrities lost their followers. Salman Khan showed his concern about them. The actor tweeted, “I hope that all my industry colleagues are okay with their so called shattered egos.”

The site has said that Twitter may face other technical problems too. But, it is trying its best to avoid the downtime during the World Cup matches.

In a blog post, Twitter spokesman Sean Garrett said, “Last October has been the worst month for Twitter from the perspective of stability and service. We are trying to offer greater stability when it receives a record number of tweets.”

He added, “Twitter will become more trustworthy in the coming days as we are making the necessary changes. We realize that there has been a negative impact on account of the disturbances and we are not happy with it. However, we look forward to the good things, ahead.”

We hope that our Bollywood celebrities get back their followers very soon and the cordial bond becomes even more stronger!
