Sonam Kapoor and Abhay Deol in Aisha's 1st Look

First look: Sonam Kapoor and Abhay Deol in AishaHere's the first look at the Sonam Kapoor Abhay Deol starrer

Anil Kapoor Films Company's Aisha, starring Sonam Kapoor and Abhay Deol, releases in July. Here's a 'first look' at the characters and their styles in the film. The romantic comedy has been shot in Delhi and Rishikesh. Rajashri Ojha directs.

Anil's daughter Rhea who is producing, says, "When I first read the script of Aisha (based on the Jane Austen novel Emma), I realized every character has their individual style reflected through their characters.

Designer Pernia Qureshi and I together created mood boards for every character along with their signature colors, went to New York and shopped. We have also used contemporary European and Indian designers.

The film is about a group of friends seen through Aisha's perspective and coming into your own. It's about finding your heart and finding that special someone you can spend the rest the life with."

Getting the look right

Aisha Kapoor (Sonam Kapoor) is an upper class Delhi girl who loves to wear trendy outfits. She's stylish and feminine yet is very strong. Pernia Qureshi who has designed all the women in Aisha says, "Aisha is very trendy yet girlie and wears lots lace and pretty outfits with polka dots, ribbons, headbands and hats. Her style quotient is the Lady Dior handbag she carries throughout the film."

Arjun Barman (Abhay Deol) plays an investment banker. Designer Kunal Rawal says his brief was to style Abhay according to his profession.

"Abhay is a clotheshorse. His character is the perfect dresser. Strait-laced yet fun and casual but his outfits are slightly slicker. He's every girl's dream. We have given Abhay suits in mixed subtle colors, suits without belts, vintage tie clips, vintage YSL belts from New York in contrasting colors. Arjun loves his brown belts and shoes."

Sonam Kapoor & Abhay Deol Has Similar Styles?

Actress Sonam Kapoor, who is playing the female lead in dad Anil Kapoor's home production "Aisha", says she and co-star Abhay Deol have similar acting styles, making it easier for her to give her best.

"It was great working with Abhay. I feel we have very similar acting styles that made working with him so easy. It's always nice to work with someone who has done the kind of work you would want to do, " Sonam told over phone from Mumbai.

Based on Jane Austen's novel "Emma", "Aisha" is being directed by Rajshree Ojha and produced by Anil Kapoor and his younger daughter Rhea Kapoor. It is expected to release in April next year.

Asked if she too would like to don the producer's hat like her father and sister, Sonam said: "I don't want to get into production or anything. I have left that for my sister and my father. I am a more creative person and thus acting is what is more suitable for me rather than the production side of a film."

Before embarking on an acting career, Sonam worked as an assistant with Sanjay Leela Bhansali during the making of "Black". Later she made her big screen debut in Bhansali's "Saawariya". Based on Fyodor Dostoevsky's "White Nights", the film also introduced Ranbir Kapoor.

Her second film was Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's "Delhi-6" with Abhishek Bachchan. The film received mixed reviews, but her performance was highly praised.

The 24-year-old is also working on "I Hate Luv Stories". Produced under Karan Johar's Dharma Productions and directed by debutant Punit Malhotra, the film also stars Imraan Khan.

Asked how she felt when people referred to her as the thinking actress, she said: "It's nice that people think this way. Every woman and artist would be happy if people think like that about her. So am I. I think it's because of the kind of work that I have done that this image has been created. It makes me happy."

Apart from acting, Sonam endorses brands like Mont Blanc pens and L'Oreal and said that endorsement increases the visibility of an artist.

"Brands give you visibility. They not only give you monetary benefits but helps audience connect to you in a better way because you are not your character while endorsing the brands. You are yourself, " said the actress, who loves diamonds.

"I love jewellery like most girls. Diamonds are my favourites. Solitaires and even unconventional large pieces are what I usually like and wear," said the actress, who is also the brand ambassador of Anant diamond jewellery.

Sonam Kappor & Abhay Deol Are In A Fire Scare?

Recently, a fire broke out on the sets of Sonam Kapoor's Aisha. Luckily there were no major damages and no one was grievously injured.

On Thursday afternoon, the incident happened because of an electrical problem at Filmistan Studios in Goregaon where the shooting was on.

However, the fire wasn’t of great magnitude and was controlled within 15 minutes. As there wasn’t much damage on the sets, the shooting will resume in two days time.

According to a fire brigade control officer, the fire damaged the curtains and electrical wire on the sets. For precaution sake, four to five trucks were dispatched.

Preeti Desai Got Splited With Boyfriend Abhay Deol

Abhay Deol who has been dating Miss Great Britain 2006, Preeti Desai, has now eneded his affair with the UK lass. Although Abhay has always been in the news for his off-screen flings, he never particularly spoke about the special women in his life.

The couple had reportedly met at the success party of Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Dev D.’ Hitting off immediately, the two had become an item. And though all seemed hunky dory initially with Preeti moving base to Mumbai for her modelling assignments, things went sour soon after.

Confirming the news a source told a daily, "Abhay enjoys life. His parting with Preeti is not shocking. It was bound to happen sooner or later. They have different likes and dislikes, which is one of the reasons why they could not sustain their relationship.”

While Abhay remained unavailable for comment, Preeti says, “Abhay and I are single. We are friends. I will not say whether or not I was dating Abhay. That’s my personal life and I don’t talk about it. At this point of time, I am friends with a lot of people in the industry.”
